A Short History Of The Pocket – Infographic

Pockets. Where did they come from? This infographic takes a look. Apparently they started out as a hanging pouch and were initially known as a ‘poke’. Hence the term a ‘pig in a poke’. Which literally refers to a pig in a small pouch and means ‘a deal foolishly accepted without being examined first’. Wise words. A further thing I’ve learnt from this infographic is to keep an eye-out for pickpockets if I’m ever in Barcelona, as they’re rife. I’m an innocent country bumpkin so I could see myself walking right into this trap. Easy pickings! Cheers for the heads up.From Pounds to Pocket.
